Austin Hills welcomed everyone, then turned over the microphone to Mike Grgich and George Taber to discuss the 40th anniversary of the Judgment of Paris. As author of the “Judgment of Paris,” Mr. Taber described for the more than 500 attendees the 1976 wine tasting and its importance in American history.
Each year we mark the anniversary of Mike Grgich and Austin Hills breaking ground to launch our winery on July 4th, 1977 by holding a celebration on the Saturday closest to that date. Members and guests enjoyed traditional Croatian foods, traditional Croatian dances by the Skalinada Ensemble and dance music by “Blue Moon”, all enhanced by our fabulous wines on the lawn of our Victorian Estate in Yountville, CA.
