The Rutherford appellation boasts a warm, well-suited climate for growing full-bodied, extracted Cabernet. In 2000, 17.3 acres of Cabernet was planted in our vineyard surrounding the winery; we also have one acre of Petit Verdot. Warm, summer days give way to cool evenings. The soil is gravelly, clay and loam which is part of the Rutherford alluvial fan. It is well drained and receives almost no irrigation throughout the growing season. Surrounding our winery, the vineyard is farmed naturally and is certified organic.
